ThirdPresence is a white-label mobile video publishing service that enables media companies to distribute their existing TV, radio, video and audio services to mobile devices easily and cost-effectively using their own brand. Q. How does ThirdPresence work?

ThirdPresence is an end-to-end web 2.0 service that is based on a mobile video server, a white-label rich media mobile client and mobile web site. ThirdPresence provides tools to customize the look & feel of the content service. End-users can access the content using any video-capable mobile phone that has a web browser. For some mobile devices, a mobile client application can be made available to consumers to download via the media company’s web-site or, in some cases, by sending an SMS to a short code number. After downloading and installing the client, consumers can discover and consume content with their mobile phone.

Q. How much does it cost?

The service has a monthly fee based on the amount of content that has been delivered to your customers. For live video/audio streams there is an additional fixed monthly fee per stream. Please see the features sub-page for more information about the pricing.

Q. Are there any hidden costs such as payments to mobile operators?

No, the only cost is the monthly payment to ThirdPresence.

Q. Do you offer any other pricing models for the ThirdPresence service, such as revenue share?

No, we don't.

Q. Do I need a licence or other permit to use ThirdPresence?

The publisher has full responsibility for all issues related to content rights or legal matters such as country-specific regulation. Before you send video to mobile phones or devices, please make sure you own the necessary rights for the content.

Q. Can the distribution of content be limited geographically?

Yes, depending on your needs we can limit access to your content by country or other geographical area (U.S., Europe, etc.).

Q. Can we take an existing stream, such as a Shoutcast stream, and broadcast it to mobile devices?

Yes. You only need to provide us the source URL of your live stream. We handle content transcoding and optimization for all different mobile phones.

Q. How does advertising work on ThirdPresence?

We support both banner ads and video ads. Advertising support is provided by integrating to publisher's ad platform or to any major third-party ad network. Ad formats supported by ThirdPresence include MMA (Mobile Marketing Association) defined formats for banners and video.

Q. How do I provide the content to the service?

We support several options. In case of live streams we need the source URL. In case of on-demand content an RSS feed can be used. Please visit our Wiki or contact us for more information.

Q. How are the streams delivered to the end-users?

ThirdPresence imports the source content, transcodes it and uses its own streaming servers to deliver the optimized content in the right format to mobile devices. ThirdPresence automatically recognizes the device that is used to access the service and chooses the content tailored to fit that particular device.

Q. Do you support DRM?

Q. Which mobile phones does ThirdPresence support?

We support all mobile phones with video and Internet capabilities - at the moment, there are over 5000 different models in our supported database.

Q. Does ThirdPresence support Apple iPhone streaming?

Yes, we support the iPhone and iPad, including adaptive bit rate and http live streaming.

Q. Where are the ThirdPresence data centers located?

Our servers are hosted by Amazon Web Services, their data centers can be found all around the world.

Q. Which access networks does ThirdPresence support?

Consumers can access the content if their mobile phone has an EDGE, 3G, 3.5G, 4G, EV-DO or WLAN connection.

Q. Is there a demo available?

Yes. To test the service register for a free trial and you will be given access to a demo that you can download on your mobile phone.

Q. Can I try the service for free?

Yes, you can sign up for a free 14-day trial.

Q. What is the free trial?

The free trial is exactly the same as the commercial service except that it is free-of-charge and does not require any commitments from you to continue to use the commercial service. After the trial period you are free to decide whether you want to continue to use the service.

Q. Does ThirdPresence sell advertising?

No. ThirdPresence is a white-label service provider and does not sell advertising. Publishers are responsible for the monetization of their own content.

Q. Who owns the consumer and usage data collected by ThirdPresence?

All consumer and usage data is owned by the publishers.
