Mobile catch-up TV for RTL Netherlands

RTL Gemist screenshot iphone ThirdPresence has developed a mobile catch-up TV service for RTL Netherlands. The service is called RTL Gemist and the address of the mobile site is http://m.rtlgemist.nl.

The RTL Gemist service contains a selection of programmes that have been broadcast during the past three days on RTL's TV channels, including popular shows such as X Factor, Wipeout, The European Poker Tour, Style by Jury and others. The latest news and weather reports are also part of the line-up. The business model is a mix of free content and pay-per-view.

[News] Mobile Video is a Winner at the Olympics

According to a press release from NBC on Wednesday, mobile video from the Vancouver Olympics has been a huge hit.

In 17 days, more than 2 million mobile video streams were served from NBC's Olympics mobile web site. This is more than 6 times the number of mobile video streams served during the Beijing Olympics in 2008.

Total pageviews for the Olympics mobile site was 87 million.

The technology may have changed, but tech-savvy consumers still watch their favourite TV shows on mobile phones at the same times as they used to watch TV, with a healthy dose taking the BBC iPlayer to bed at weekends.

The BBC, which has provided a revealing snapshot into how consumers are using BBC iPlayer on their mobiles to watch TV, found that peak time viewing is about 9.30pm.
